Emergency Fire Damage Tips

Nobody expects a fire in their home or business. But SERVPRO of Eastern Lake County wants to provide some quick tips that could prevent further damage to your property.  

• Limit movement if possible 
• Place dry towels or old linens on high traffic carpet areas to prevent more soiling 
• If the electricity is off, make sure to empty the refrigerator and freezer and prop open 

• Wipe soot from chrome on any faucets and appliances then wipe with a light coating of lubricant 
• DO NOT attempt to wash any walls or painted surfaces without contacting SERVPRO of Eastern Lake County  
• Do not shampoo carpet or furniture 
• Do not attempt to clean any electrical appliances that may have been close to fire or water without consulting a repair service.
